The weekend

It’s Monday evening and Al is off to his treatment at 7:30 PM. I’ve stayed home to finish a hem of one of the wedding outfits and so I can watch “House”. Al suggested it, I suspect because he’d like to be filled in on what has happened when he gets home. “House” is one of our joint pleasures.
Saturday evening, we went to a local Indian casino. It was gorgeous, and we got free tickets to their buffet for joining their player’s club. We went with George and Susie.
We had a great meal, and everyone paid their dues except me. I actually walked out $20.00 richer than when I went in. This is some sort of miracle, let me assure you. I even found eighteen cents on the floor while we were there!
Since we (I mean I) ate too much Saturday night, it took me a while to get going on Sunday. Once I did, we went to the gym. I still haven’t gotten out to the pool area to see how warm, or cold, the water really is. For that matter, neither has Al. I’m thinking of joining the water aerobics class but the pool is outdoors and the air is still pretty cool in the mornings at 10 AM when the class is held. I’m absolutely sure that the water isn’t as warm as it is at Butchie’s Pool at home - and that one is indoors. Basically, I’m a sissy and I HATE being cold, especially cold and wet! Whatever we did between the gym and dinner totally escapes me right now, but we went to the Outback for dinner and had a Blooming Onion and steaks. We discovered restaurant row when we went looking for Outback. There must be anything and everything you could ask for in food on that street which is aptly named “Hospitality Lane”.
I just remembered something from Sunday afternoon - we had a jackrabbit in our back yard! It was just sitting there chewing on whatever it found appetizing and my cameras
were not where I could get at them fast enough to catch a picture. One was across the street in the glove compartment (my old 35 mm) and the other was in a box in the closet in the 5th wheel (the digital). I guess if I really want to take pictures of anything that might add to our scrapbook of living in Loma Linda, I’m going to have to start wearing the cameras like jewelry. They’re pretty heavy to do that.
Today dawned grey and overcast and very cool. It’s stayed that way most of the day. The sun tried to peek through for a while this afternoon, but it never really succeeded. We went shopping (again - my credit card is going to tilt!) for a few things that we needed but we forgot to get cards for the birthdays, graduations and the shower this week. That means that we’ll be shopping again tomorrow. That’s scary!
Besides shopping, we are looking forward to changing spaces to be closer to the laundry room and the wi-fi so I won’t have to “blog” in shifts anymore. We were going to move tomorrow but the gantry got us again. Ed and Alice, nice people from Pennsylvania, were supposed to be done today and moving on to their next destination. They do work for their church and go wherever they are needed. But, the gantry was down and now they have one more day to go. I’m sure they are a lot more “bummed” by the extra day than we are. Once we move, we will “live” right next door to George and Susie and we’ll have to use somebody else’s backyard to get to the orange tree.
Al just came back and told me that his appointment tomorrow is at 6:50 PM so we will have to leave the potluck early tomorrow night. Also Ed and Alice are taking George and Susie to dinner tomorrow and none of them will be at the potluck. Our usual table is going to be empty. I guess we’ll probably meet some “newbies” to fill it up. It feels a little strange to be considered upper classmen who know the ropes now.
